Welcome to our Outreach Concern, Inc. blog. Outreach Concern is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) school-based, counseling agency founded by Dr. Rick Capaldi in 1993 with a goal of helping students and parents eliminate the barriers impacting student performance in and outside the classroom. We’ve been providing intervention and prevention services to public, private and parochial schools in greater Los Angeles and Orange County for more than 20 years. During that time we’ve had a presence in over 250 schools, working with over 500,000 children and adolescents experiencing academic, behavioral, social, and emotional issues affecting their ability to thrive and succeed.
We recognize that today’s students bring more to the classroom than their books, pencils and iPads. Their emotional backpacks are crammed with issues, concerns and questions that influence and impact their daily success. Whether their issues are manifested as classroom disruptions, poor attention, low grades or self-destructive behavior, Outreach Concern and its over 4,000 counselors for the past decades have worked with students, parents and schools toward overcoming those barriers that impact success. Our collaborative efforts with faculty, administrators, universities, public agencies and hundreds of professionals support a well-trained cooperative team whose goal is to impact student performance and provide a positive learning experience for counselors and professionals who make up our team.
